Breakups are nothing easy. They can torment your mind, body, and heart. Breakups have stages of grief, eventually coming to acceptance of what has happened. Poor Catullus understood this better than anyone, so here are the stages of a breakup as told by him.

Denial

"You loved her as you shall love no one again"

"We had those many hours together, which you wanted, and she didnt say she didnt want"

Anger

"You'll be sorry when you're not asked for. Bitch, what are you going to do now?"

Depression

"I hate and I love. Perhaps you ask what I'm doing this for? I don't know. But I feel it, and it is torture."

"He who sitting opposite you again and again watches and hears you sweetly laughing, which rips all my sense from me, in my misery."

Acceptance

"You must stop being a fool and admit you have lost what you know has perished."

"Dont chase what flees, nor live wretchedly, but be resolute, endure, stand strong."

"Goodbye girl. Now Catullus stands firm, and he will not ask after you or look for you since you don't want him"

"He who sitting opposite you again and again watches and hears you sweetly laughing, which rips all my sense from me, in my misery."

However painful the breakup may seem, know that you will get through it.
